About Us

Our Program and Professional Development team is dedicated to every employee engaging in professional learning everyday so that every student is ready to excel in college, careers, and life. Serving over 4,500 employees in the Kent School District, our goal is to build the capacity of every leader and learner throughout our learning organization. 

Another goal is to design and implement professional learning opportunities leading to equitable access and outcomes for our students and employees. We strive to offer a balance of courses for academic, social emotional, and career readiness. Each course is intended to increase the expertise of our staff, the independence and agency of our staff and students, and the depth of thinking and real-world applications of the learning for our staff and students. 

Our team engages and partners with our stakeholders across our district, family, and community members and provides high-quality professional development for leaders and learners leading to: 

• A system-wide culture of learning. 
• The implementation of instructional and industry best practices. 
• The courageous conversations challenging the status quo in an environment of relational trust and open communication. 
• The maximum growth and achievement for ALL students and employees.
