Scope of Work

The Kent School District Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Steering Committee meets every other month to review aspects of our MTSS as a system.

The work of the steering committee is guided by the District Capacity Assessment (DCA). The DCA overviews systems required as a district to support the implementation of MTSS. The assessment focuses on the leadership, competency, and organization of the MTSS system.

The purpose of the team is to guide the MTSS work for the district using the research-based criteria (DCA) as the driver.

Membership

The MTSS Steering Committee is comprised of volunteers. Membership may include:

• Parents
• Students
• Administrative representation from each level (elementary, middle, high school)
• Teachers
• Counselors
• Central administration staff
• Community-based organizations
