ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapp Equity Council
The Kent School District (ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapp) Equity Council partners with the Office of Equity and is committed to authentically engaging our many stakeholders in advancing our efforts towards creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment for our students.?
The Equity Council works cooperatively with the superintendent and school district officials in deepening their understanding and expertise of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapp Race and Equity Policy. Members represent the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapp community and have a shared interest in our mission of Successfully Preparing All Students For Their Futures.
The full council meets once a month on Tuesday evenings from 4:30pm-6pm.

Racial Equity & Restorative Practices Training Academy
- Build a team of facilitators to regularly lead trainings
- Create and pilot a training sequence for existing and new staff members
- Develop corresponding metrics and performance indicators

Student Well-Being & Inclusion Data
- Optimize and revise the existing student equity survey
- Expanding inquiry to elementary students in an accessible way
- Developing additional direct and indirect methods of gathering data on the student experience.?
- Establishing well-being and inclusion metrics

Student Design Teams
- Continuation and re-engagement of High School teams.
- Expand teams to Middle School
- Integrate student leadership into District committees
- Provide access and support for student participation in local, regional and national leadership opportunities.?

Cultivating, Advancing, Retaining Educators of Color (CARE)?
- Establishing a long-term strategy to sustain the program beyond the life of the grant funding.?
- Partnering with the grant managers to build out a suite of resources and instructional supports and mentoring opportunities for Educators of Color.?
